Dear God I am Sore

Posted in Workouts on September 1st, 2010 by Palespyder – Be the first to comment

Okay, so I woke up this morning so sore I cannot stand it. I am slated to do Shoulders and Arms + Abripper today, hope that the workout gets rid of some of this soreness.

Power90X Reboot

Well I took a bit of time off to try Insanity and while that was working, it was not giving me the results I wanted to see. After speaking with some friends, I decided to again do 1 round of Power90X then I will do Insanity to cut fat out of the muscles. The way I was doing it was cutting fat without building muscle and was told by a trainer that is a backwards way to work it. So here I am, Day 2, did Plyo and went for a run doing Couch25K Week 3. I will try to keep this updated as much as possible, I am really bad at that.

Still Pressing Play..

I am still going. I am in week 2, just finished Plyometrics X and was able to do a ton more then I was last week. As I said before, I am  going to have to just take it slow, do as much as I can and add new stuff as I am able. I don’t think it will take me more then a month or so to complete all the workouts.

I have lost 15 lbs in the last week, though I am assuming most of that was water buildup. Though I am not following the diet, I am trying to really do a bit of portion control and I think that is helping a bit too.

Anyway, thought I would check in so you guys did not think I was slacking off. With School, a full time job, a wife, and a house to take care of, I have a bit of trouble getting here to post sometimes.

Took a Day Off

I was having trouble dragging my ass out of bed this morning so I decided to take today as my off day. Not a huge loss Yoga X, which I have a ton of trouble with.

My soreness is getting better, I am still fairly sore but I am either getting more used to it or it is getting less and less all the time. Anyway I will post more tomorrow.

OMG! I am sore as hell…Day 3

I did Shoulders and Arms today and though I finished up to two exercises into the bonus, the soreness is intense. It is hard for me to lift my arms above my head and my legs feel like jello. I know this will get easier, I just have to keep pressing play.

I did not have trouble with any of the exercises except chair dips, which I have always had a problem with.

I brought the X for Plyomtrics X…well for half anyway.

Did some Plyometrics X this morning. I am going to have to figure something out on that one because I don’t want to wake my wife up while jumping around. I made it through about 40 minutes before I got worried about waking her up.

The workout is tough, but not unbearable, I was sweating like a whore in church, but that is to be expected when you weigh almost 300lbs and you are trying to make all that flub levitate. I love that workout the most because I feel like it is the one where you can feel it really getting into those deep stabilizer muscles and working. I think the worst part of it is the stool kicks, my hip flexors are killing me right now.

Anyway, Day 2 is down and I am looking forward to the journey this time, no more excuses, just got to keep pushing play.

May 31, 2010. The First Day of the Rest of My Life

Posted in Workouts on May 31st, 2010 by Palespyder – 3 Comments

Well, I decided today was the day and that “I am to fat” to do the exercises was just an excuse my mind was making so that it can maintain the norm. I don’t want the norm so I went in at 8:30 tonight and I pressed play on the Chest and Back Workout. It kicked my ass, and I was not able to do abs for fear of vomiting, but I finished the workout and I will be getting up at 5am every morning and pressing play. I will just have to add things in as I can (Ab Ripper X). Anyway, I am on my way.

I did not bother changing my pics, I weigh exactly the same and nothing has changed.

Day 5 – Legs and Back and Ab Ripper X

Posted in Ab Ripper X, Legs and Back, Workouts on March 12th, 2010 by Palespyder – Be the first to comment

The “Legs” part of Legs and Back is a bear. Whether it is the “Balance Squats”, “Wall Sits”, or “Dead Lift Squats”, this workout has your legs screaming for mercy 5 minutes in. I was not able to make it completely through this workout, but I can already tell this is going to have my legs crazy strong. What else I like about it is that it is promoting ankle strength and balance, these are all things that I need in large amounts.

Doing my back was not bad. I have a chinup bar of course, but I am still going to use the bands for awhile due to being to large and not strong enough to heft almost 300lbs up to a chinup bar. I know eventually I will be, just seems I want everything now. I can already feel the DOMS setting in from the bands workout around my shoulders, shoulder blades, and in my “wings”. This workout is going to be one of my favorites in the long run I think.

“Get ready to squat, lunge, and pull for a total-body workout like no other. While the main focus of this workout lies in strengthening and developing the leg muscles (quads, hamstrings, glutes, and calves), there’s also a handful of great pull-up exercises to give your legs a quick breather while you work the upper body.”

    Day 4 – Yoga X

Posted in Workouts, Yoga X on March 11th, 2010 by Palespyder – Be the first to comment

I really struggled with the Yoga X, I have always had issues doing yoga. My biggest problem with it as of now is holding myself in downward facing dog for all that time. I am almost 300 lbs, it is not easy to hold that much weight up on my hands without falling. Then I am not even close to being flexible enough to swing my feet underneath to do the Warrior and Runner poses.

Now that the whining is over, next week I will just continue to push harder and harder until I am able to do these moves the way that Tony says they should be done. I am not naive enough to think that Yoga is not good for me, I know that more flexibility and more strength in the stabilizer muscles will be amazing for my SCA fighting.

“Yoga is a vital part of any fitness regimen, and is an absolute must for an extreme program like P90X. This routine combines strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, and breath work to enhance your physique and calm your mind. Yoga X will leave you feeling energized, invigorated, and maybe even a little enlightened.”
